Today on 9th May 2023, stock market has remained flat, #nifty has gone no where and closed only +1 point up @ 18,265. #midcap100 has moved only +12 points (+0.04%) and closed at 32,488. #smallcap has moved -5 points (-0.05%) and closed at 9,815. And stock portfolio too has remained almost flat with price movement of just - ₹ 1020 (-0.04%) and now latest market value of stock portfolio is at ₹23,51,840.
Today portfolio is pulled by #namindia #icicilombard #marico #tcs and dragged down by #bajajfinance . And #vipindustries has remained flat.
Today one good thing has happened so I thought let's share it. Yesterday VIP industry has declared its quarterly and year end numbers and the company has posted loss in the current quarter and still today it's stock price has not fallen. why? I think the main reason is in the numbers, 1st the loss is because of exceptional event of "fire incident in Bangladesh unit" and 2nd on the year on year basis the company has posted good numbers, it's profitable in year on year basis. Means loss in quarterly basis but profitable in yearly basis. Now here, the fundamental rule has worked. "Buy the good company in the bad time" and hence despite of negative numbers stock has not fallen.
About markets, although it has remained flat today, it's moving up slowly and steadily and we are happy watching our portfolio growing.
